We are a voluntary organisation operating in the community of Sixmilebridge and Kilmurry villages in County Clare, Ireland.
Community Games is a nationwide independent voluntary organisation providing opportunities for children and young people (ages 6-16) to experience a wide range of sporting and cultural activities.

WHAT'S GOING ON?
Talent Competition:
Singers, dancers and musicians aged under 14 will compete on 29th February in the GAA hall. Winners qualify for the county finals in Newmarket-on-Fergus on Good Friday 21st March.
Draughts:
Draughts coaching continues in Sixmilebridge National School every Thursday night at 7pm. All players under 14 are welcome. Volunteers are also welcome to help supervise and coach. The draughts competition is on March 1st in Tulla.
Quiz:
Coaching for under-14s Quiz starts next Monday night 3rd March at the Sixmilebridge National School at 7:30p.m.
Projects:
The projects compeitition is on Thursday night 6th March (NOT 5th as in the Clare Champion). Setup from 7pm, judging from 7:30.
Culture Corner:
At a signing-up night on Wednesday 13th Feb., eighteen young entertainers formed three groups for the Culture Corner event. Many thanks to Dolores, Margaret, Mary, Jim, and Teresa who will prepare the teams for competition.
Culture Corner requires a group of six to make a ten-minute stage presentation of Irish story and culture. Many of the incoming teams were members of the third and fourth-placed teams in Mosney last year. This year, however only one team from each county can compete at the National Finals in May.

Grant Awarded
Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry was awarded a grant in support of a Health promotion project.
Registration Night:
Thursday night 24th January was registration night at Sixmilebridge National School.
Over 40 families registered for all local Community Games events for the year.
National Awards Night:
In Ballinasloe on the 19th January, area chairman Fiach McHugh was presented with the Most Active Area award for County Clare. Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry also received a special Merit award, and Dolores O'Loughlin help Fiach collect a beautiful Galway Crystal vase.
Mary Phelan, long-serving county secretary and an area officer for many years, received a Volunteer Award.
County AGM:
At the County AGM, Mary Phelan of Sixmilebridge withdrew her resignation to stay on as county Secretary. Fiach McHugh was elected unopposed as Chairman, and Rose Meakins stayed on as Treasurer.
Area AGM:
The area AGM was held on Wed 16th October in Teach na Cúirte (Courthouse), Sixmilebridge. A disappointing turnout returned all the incoming officers, with the exception of PRO. Maire McHugh was nominated in her absence, and has since agreed to take up the position.
All Stars
The All Stars award winners have been announced, with seven recipients in Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry:
The All Stars presentation dinner is at the West County Hotel in Ennis on 26th October. All are invited - tickets at €20 available from Margaret O'Halloran.
Festival of Variety:
Dolores O'Loughlin and her team hosted 3 visiting teams for a great night's entertainment on 6th October in Sixmilebridge GAA Hall. Groups from Wexford, Monagahan and Kildare all put on their show as performed at Mosney for the National finals in August, and of course the local team put on their show to a rapturous reception. A Disco kept the hall jumping 'til late, and local families hosted the visitors for the night.
The 'Bridge/Kilmurry team headed for Carrickmacross in Monaghan for a return visit on13th October. A great show was accompanied by a great welcome, and the Wexford festival on 17th November was equally enjoyable..
